State workers to increase health, pension contributions

State Rep. Peter Barca has released a briefing document (PDF) on state employee contracts.

While we have not yet seen the contracts, we wanted to make sure that this additional information is also available to all members in the interest of transparency.

WisPolitics said the document shows state employees would pay an additional $1.3 million annually for their health insurance premiums and $5 million a year for their pensions under 2009-11 collective bargaining agreements proposed to union workers. With furlough days added in for employees, the Office of State Employment Relations estimates union employees would make more than $103 million in concessions over the biennium.
