Senator Ron Johnson received a couple of key committee assignments last week. The Wisconsin Republican will serve on the Committee on Appropriations and the Committee on the Budget, as well as the Special Committee on Aging and the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
And over the weekend, Johnson was tapped to deliver the GOP response to President Barack Obama’s weekly radio address.
As for those committee appointments, UW political scientist Charles Franklin said the seats on Appropriations and Budget are unusual for a freshman Senator.“Any senator would like to be appointed to powerful committees,” Franklin told the Badger Herald. “The fact that Senator Johnson got assigned to such powerful committees is a better-than-average outcome.”
And Johnson now has an official website, too.
