Some comments from Tuesday’s Senate debate on concealed carry. The Senate passed the legislation on a 25-8 vote.
Senator Tim Cullen (D-Janesville):
“It is in my mind the hidden, loaded gun bill. That’s what we have in front of us. A hidden, loaded gun bill. And some people in this body believe, and I take them at their word, that this makes Wisconsin safer.”
And Republican Senator Frank Lasee:
“Bad people already break the law. It’s already illegal for felons to have guns. But you know what? They carry anyway. They won’t go get permits. Bad people don’t bother. They just do it, because they’re criminals.”
