Democrats named to mining committee

Senate Democratic Leader Mark Miller today announced that when Republicans formally create a special Senate committee to review Wisconsin’s mining permitting laws, he will appoint Democratic Senators Bob Jauch, Tim Carpenter and Jon Erpenbach.  Miller mining appointments (PDF)

Kind won’t run for U.S. Senate

U.S. Representative Ron Kind has announced he won’t be running the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Herb Kohl. Representative Tammy Baldwin has already announced her candidacy and Kind’s decision means a Democratic primary is unlikely.
