Mistele tapped for regulatory post

Department of Safety & Professional Services Secretary Dave Ross has appointed Nancy Mistele as Administrator of the Division of Safety and Buildings.

Ross cited Mistele’s experience as president of several building companies, as an executive and entrepreneur, as “a great asset to our agency and our stakeholders.”

In addition to a short term on the Madison school board and an unsuccessful campaign for Dane County executive in 2009, Mistele is a well-known conservative activist.

Mistele, who in 2010 launched The Founders’ Compass, an online resource for the Tea Party movement, organized Sarah Palin’s Madison visit this year and is a frequent guest on local conservative talk radio.

Ross also named former Dane County Executive Jonathan Barry as Administrator of the Division of Enforcement and Ms. Kelli Kaalele as Administrator of the Division of Board Services.
