We don’t, as a general rule, do much reporting on political endorsements. Mainly, I suppose, because there are so many, there would be little time for anything else.
That said, let’s note that U.S. Senate candidate Mark Neumann has picked up the endorsement of the Tea Party Express – a well-funded, California based outfit pledged to the laudable goals of restoring liberty and honoring the Constitution.
Neumann, a former congressman who has run unsuccessful campaigns for U.S. Senate and governor, is locked in another contentious Senate bid. His task in the GOP primary is to present himself as the candidate who most fully embodies conservative ideals – specifically fiscal conservatism. This Tea Party Express endorsement may help him solidify that image against former Governor Tommy Thompson, hedge fund manager Eric Hovde, and Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald, (aka the five time statewide winner, the economics expert, and the young Irish guy who likes a fight.)
In addition to the Tea Party Express, Neumann enjoys the full support of his grandson Charlie, (aka the little rascal), as he related in his closing comments at Monday’s Green Bay radio debate, and in a radio ad.
