It’s a media crush on the 4th floor of the Capitol today, as the Joint Legislative Audit Committee holds an informational audit on the recent audit of the Wisconsin Development Corporation.
A couple of Democrats on the committee, Rep. Melissa Sargent and Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, have referenced a table on page 56 of the Audit Bureau report. “Reported Jobs Created and Retained as a Result of Economic Development Awards Made in FY 2011-12.” The totals are 24,284 or 24,702, depending on the reporting.
Sargent did some quick math and said each job cost $39,880 for WEDC to retain.
WEDC Executive Director Reed Hall is up now for what promises to be a lengthy Q&A.
