Perspective on defense spending

As was widely reported on Monday, the Department of Defense is proposing a package of wide-ranging cuts to the nation’s military. The proposal hadn’t even been officially unveiled before criticisms were leveled at President Obama and Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.
